S&B Grid Heater Delete for Dodge Cummins 1998-2007 5.9L

Pricing: $99.00

The Dodge Cummins 5.9L does not use glow plugs to start it. Rather, the 5.9L Cummins is equipped with a grid heater, located directly between the air horn and intake manifold. The grid heater heats incoming air on start up to ensure quick and effortless starting, especially in cold weather. The grid heater is a restrictive unit, and performance gains can be had by removing it. S&B offers a CNC, 100% Machine Cut Grid Heater Delete. A grid heater delete kit replaces the factory, restrictive grid heater with a free flowing riser. This makes the transition between the air horn / intake elbow and intake manifold smooth and unrestricted, resulting in increased air flow and performance gains. While gains are relatively small, this modification is very affordable.

Note: This Grid Heater Delete should NOT be used in cold weather climates as it can result in increased effort to start your truck in a cold state.

Better Airflow: While the stock grid heater block isn't overly restrictive to your trucks airflow, removing it will result in better airflow which in turn provides better performance and fuel economy.
