The Sinister Diesel Universal Coolant Filtration Kit was originally developed around the demanding cooling systems found in diesel trucks, but it didn't take long for customers to prove just how versatile this system really is.
We've seen these kits installed on Powerstroke, Cummins, and Duramax trucks, gasoline engines, tractors, snow plows, agricultural equipment, custom builds, and numerous other liquid-cooled applications.
That's exactly why we designed this kit to be universal.
Instead of building the kit around one specific vehicle, we include a large assortment of fittings, tees, valves, hose connections, clamps, and mounting hardware so the system can be adapted to a wide variety of cooling systems. Whether you're working with a diesel pickup, gasoline engine, tractor, piece of equipment, or custom application, this kit gives you the flexibility to build a coolant filtration system around your specific setup.
Contaminants aren't exclusive to diesel engines. Casting sand, machining debris, metal particles, rust, scale, and mineral deposits can exist in virtually any engine cooling system. Once these contaminants begin circulating through the engine, they can contribute to premature water pump and seal wear, restrict small coolant passages, and accumulate inside radiators, heater cores, oil coolers, EGR coolers, and other critical cooling system components.
The Sinister Diesel Universal Coolant Filtration Kit uses a bypass design that routes a small amount of coolant through a dedicated spin-on filter while the engine is operating. Contaminants are gradually captured and removed from circulation without restricting the primary coolant flow.
At the heart of the system is our CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum filter block featuring two threaded inlet ports and one outlet port. Combined with the included WIX filter and extensive assortment of installation components, you have the flexibility to determine the best mounting location and coolant connections for your particular application.

Recommended Filter Service Schedule
The first several filters should be changed more frequently because they typically capture the largest amount of existing debris from the cooling system.
Initial Filter – Replace after 500 miles or an equivalent initial operating period
Second Filter – Replace after approximately 1,500 additional miles or operating equivalent
Third Filter – Replace after approximately 3,000 additional miles or operating equivalent
Regular Maintenance – Replace at every oil change
For stationary, agricultural, industrial, or other equipment where mileage does not apply, filter service intervals should be adjusted based on operating hours, application, coolant condition, and contamination levels.
