Product Overview
The factory charge pipe system on the 2017–2026 6.7L Powerstroke (Standard Output) uses plastic and rubber components on the cold side and a restrictive 2.5" metal pipe on the hot side. Over time, heat cycles and boost pressure can cause expansion, cracking, or separation — especially under towing or increased load.
Sinister Diesel replaces both sides with full 3" mandrel-bent, TIG-welded aluminum tubing engineered for strength, airflow efficiency, and long-term reliability.
Independent airflow testing confirms measurable improvements:
- Up to 61% less restriction on the hot side compared to factory piping
- Up to 27% less restriction on the cold side across the usable airflow range
Lower restriction means the turbo does not have to work as hard to move the same volume of air — improving overall charge system efficiency under load.
More aluminum tubing means a stronger, more reliable product. The factory cold-side pipe is plastic. Some aftermarket kits use minimal aluminum and heavily rely on silicone or rubber instead of full aluminum piping. Often only a short section is upgraded while long silicone sections are used because they are less expensive and easier to produce than mandrel-bent, TIG-welded, powder-coated aluminum tubing.
Excessive silicone or rubber can expand and billow under boost, disrupting clean airflow and reducing structural stability. Aluminum maintains its shape under pressure, preserving consistent airflow and minimizing expansion under load.
Many competing kits require you to remove and reuse factory O-rings and retaining clips from your original charge pipes. These components are often heat-cycled and fatigued.
Sinister Diesel includes new O-rings and retaining clips for both hot and cold side connections — ensuring a proper seal and eliminating the risk of reinstalling worn sealing components.
To further prevent boost leaks, our silicone boots feature a molded No-Slip Lip — an internal ridge that mechanically locks onto the pipe bead. Combined with our 3/4" wide stainless steel T-bolt clamps, this design helps prevent boot slippage under towing, heavy load, or tuned conditions.
This is not a cosmetic upgrade. It is a structural, airflow, and reliability improvement designed to eliminate bottlenecks and weak points in the charge system.

FAQ
Why should I upgrade to this product?
A: The factory plastic charge pipes are a known weak point on the 2017 6.7L Power Stroke. They can crack or fail under boost, especially during towing or heavy acceleration. This upgraded aluminum kit improves durability, maintains consistent boost pressure, and helps prevent unexpected power loss.
Will this fit my truck?
A: This kit fits 2017-2026 Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel engine. It is designed for stock turbo and intercooler configurations and does not fit earlier or later model years.
Is installation difficult?
A: Installation is straightforward for most mechanically inclined owners and typically takes 2–3 hours with basic hand tools. No cutting, welding, or custom fabrication is required.
Will this affect performance or reliability?
A: This kit maintains OEM boost control and drivability while improving long-term reliability. The upgraded aluminum construction resists cracking and expansion under boost, helping maintain consistent airflow and reducing the risk of leaks.
What’s included in the kit?
A: The kit includes both aluminum charge pipes (hot and cold side), silicone boots, required clamps and hardware, and installation instructions.
