2. Fuel Filter Replacement

The 2011-2014 6.7 Powerstroke uses a two-filter system, which helps prevent contaminants from damaging the fuel injectors. It’s recommended to replace both the primary and secondary fuel filters every 15,000 miles or when the fuel filter indicator light activates.

3. Cooling System Maintenance

Regularly inspect the hoses, water pump, and radiator for leaks and wear. Ensure you use the correct coolant type, such as Motorcraft Orange Coolant (VC-3-B). 4. Air Filter Inspection

Keeping the air filter clean ensures proper airflow to the engine, which improves performance and fuel efficiency. It is recommended to check the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. For trucks operating in dusty environments, inspect the filter more frequently. Consider upgrading to a performance air filter for longer-lasting results.

5. DEF System Maintenance

The 6.7 Powerstroke uses a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system to reduce emissions. Make sure to refill the DEF tank when necessary, as neglecting it can trigger the "limp mode" function or prevent the engine from starting. Ford recommends using certified DEF fluid such as Motorcraft DEF.

• DEF Tank Capacity: 5 gallons.
• DEF Fluid: Motorcraft DEF or any ISO 22241-certified DEF fluid.

6. Transmission Fluid and Filter

The 2011-2014 6.7 Powerstroke comes equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Changing the transmission fluid and filter every 30,000 miles under severe duty conditions, such as frequent towing, will extend the life of the transmission.

7. Battery and Electrical System
